Lauren is a social entrepreneur, in a public servants body, with a feminist spirit. With a history in gender activism, the trade union movement, and development integration for local government, she gets excited about using the entrepreneurial principles of innovation and collaboration for reshaping the regulated systems that govern our lives.
Her background in linguistics, psychology and development studies has affirmed her belief in the potential that discourse has as a space in which to inspire change, build momentum and impact lives. She sees TEDx as a vehicle for initiating conversations and building collaboration between individuals, organisations and communities to face shared challenges.
Her vision is to affect greater access and inclusion, towards empowering all individuals to take control of their own livelihoods and experience the dignity of contributing to their local economy and community.
